Florida Marine Transporters, Inc. has placed itself among the leaders in the safe and conscientious operations of inland towboats and barges. Florida Marine has continued to post an industry leading downward trend in both its incident rate and environmental impacts, even while expanding its fleet over three fold in recent years.

Our ongoing commitment to the principles of the AWO Responsible Carrier Program and the institution and application of Shell Chemical's “Hearts and Minds” Behavioral Based HSE Program can definitely be attributed to this reduction in the overall number of incidents in both personal injuries / illnesses and vessel incidents.  Employees receive a constant reminder and positive reinforcement of accepted safe operating habits.  This well implemented quality program provides has had a positive impact on safe and environmentally conscious operations aboard our vessels.
