Responsible Carrier Program

FMT is a member of the Responsible Carrier Program, which is sponsored by the American Waterways Operators. The program consists of a set of safety and environmental protection practices which exceed governmental standards.

The program protects the environment by establishing safety systems to prevent accidents, spills and environmental damage resulting from accidents. The program also includes comprehensive crew training in vessel maintenance procedures and equipment requirements.

All members are required to undergo a comprehensive, third-party audit by professionals to demonstrate their compliance.
